This year, the NAPM conference didn’t disappoint. There was strong industry engagement and meaningful discussion around the critical topics shaping our space.

The industry has been embracing technology for decades, and we are far beyond simply printing a basic barcode on a mail piece with an inkjet or mail sorter. We are deep in AI, mail data analytics, demographics, and variable data print.

Staying at the forefront of USPS changes and understanding their operational impact is what customers now expect from their vendors. Practical solutions are more critical than ever.

The core focus of the conference was what to expect from the Postal Service in the upcoming few years and how this will impact mailers and mail service providers.

The Postal Service will continue to focus on:

  • Increased transparency around upcoming changes
  • Ongoing dialogue with mailers and mail service providers on new rules and regulations
  • Continued emphasis on cost efficiency

Postal customers should be focused on:

  • Postage promotion incentives. When leveraged correctly, promotions remain one of the most effective ways to reduce postage costs.
  • A definite postage rate increase in the summer of 2026
  • Postage meter decertification. There are still several postage meter models scheduled to sunset in 2026 and 2027
  • Your mailing data is everything. Operational performance and USPS scorecards increasingly define your cost and compliance position

If you have specific questions regarding your operations or any upcoming USPS changes, we would be happy to start the dialogue and continue the conversation.
